Ruben Dalen is a producer, mixing engineer and drummer with over 30 years of experience, and a Spellemann Award-winning producer (2023). With music as both his profession and lifelong passion, he has developed a way of working rooted in collaboration and trust. Ruben has a strong ear for detail, a focus on creating a cohesive sonic identity, and a natural pull towards both classic soul, R&B and contemporary pop. This creative range allows him to work just as comfortably with electronic music as with soul and blues.

For Ruben, production is first and foremost about understanding what the artist wants to express — and building from there, rather than imposing a predefined sound. Sometimes that means holding back; other times it means challenging and contributing new ideas. The goal is always to fully realise the artist’s vision.

The studio is a space for flow and focused creative work, where Ruben approaches mixing and production through a combination of analogue gear, vintage outboard and a powerful Mac.
